Texas: Don't mess with us!

More major out-of-state press for Kinky (in the Chicago Tribune) - looks like they got the memo..... But Carole Strayhorn hangs tough in the Austin American Statesman....

By the way, Libertarian gov candidate James Werner is being excluded from the debate by the Belo Corp. according to the Texas Monitor.....

And the Waco Tribune reports on the ongoing protests against Perry's Trans Texas Corridor plans, many folks allied with Strayhorn's campaign..... For some good background on this fight, see Independent Texans' Stop the Trans Texas Corridor .....

Great piece on Strayhorn in the Statesman. She comes across as tough and independent-minded. Sounds like the kind of person who is not afraid as the headline says to "ruffle a few feathers."

Robb - yes! Us independents need to ruffle a few feathers! Let's make ourselves known! How can we do this? What's going to ruffle their feathers? How can we organize? How do you heard cats?????

I was wondering if you could add this small speech I made at the event, if not it's no biggie but I think it basically explains our fight :)
"We all know that the Trans Texas Corridor is not just a problem for Texans. This corridor will stretch from Southern Mexico into Canada. It's going to take our land, our environment and it's going to take away life as we know it. It's our responsibility to tell everyone we know that in November, our voice has to be heard! Texas stops the corridor! Every state up the line has to feel the power of Texas. Our strength will be their strength, our voice will be their voice. Do your part, tell your friends and get informed."
