Re the Chris Cillizza piece: that hardcore conservative Republican base sure is something, aren't they? It's become like a guessing game to see what insane and fruitless position they'll take next! It is astounding to watch them grow ever more extreme and frantic as they cause the GOP to grow ever more irrelevant and smaller. Not a good thing, as there are still far too many corporatist Democrats, and that party DOES need a viable challenger to make it perform as it did 45-75 years ago!
