California: What matters is what the independent voters think...
California independents, who will determine the election outcome this year, more favorable to Westly and to Schwarzenneger.... And Dan Walters points out the continuing erosion of Dem registrations as more voters become "decline to state"....

Thanks, Kevin - and a late breaking note - the Committee for an Independent Voice - CA previously endorsed Ron Dellums for Congress from Oakland, and now has endorsed CIV has endorsed Elena Popp in the 45th, based on her history and activities in support of political reform:

A longtime independent she is running in the Democratic Primary in order to have a broader impact
She publicly supports open primaries, redistricting reform and public financing of campaigns
