California: Independent redistricting initiative needed
Reform system so my vote counts By: JOHN LEE EVANS - Commentary Community Forums (North County Times) -- The midterm elections have come and gone, but there's one thing that hasn't changed. In San Diego County every district is controlled by the same political party. We the voters need to change this. ...If the people want their votes to count they need to come up with their own initiative to put redistricting in 2010 into the hands of an independent commission. Any plan the Legislature comes up with will have loopholes that are self-serving....
