Oregon: Third party candidates join independent Ben Westlund in gov race...

[Joe] Keating was the first candidate for governor to nail down a spot for the general election, which now figures to be a lively, six-person race. The Pacific Green Party nominated him in March, two months before a May 16 primary that saw Democrats choose Ted Kulongoski and Republicans pick Ron Saxton.
On Saturday, the Oregon Libertarian Party nominated Richard Morley, a former candidate for secretary of state, to run for governor. The same day, the Constitution Party of Oregon formally named anti-abortion activist Mary Starrett its candidate.
State Sen. Ben Westlund, a Republican-turned-independent from the Bend area, will qualify as an independent if he can submit enough petition signatures.....

Gov. Ted Kulongoski has snared another prized endorsement from a public-employees union that snubbed him in the May primary.
The 20,000-member Oregon School Employees Association agreed to endorse Kulongoski for the general election in November. The union, which represents school bus drivers, aides and other classified employees, had supported former Treasurer Jim Hill in the May Democratic primary....
