Augusta, Ga. – Georgia Statewide Candidates vying for Governor, Lt. Governor and Secretary of State have been invited to participate in a Candidate’s Forum at the first-ever Southern Regional Independent Movement Spring Conference to be held on Friday, June 16th and Saturday, June 17th at the Holiday Inn, 2155 Gordon Highway in Augusta, Ga. The Candidates’ Forum will be held 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17th. To date, two candidates for Governor, Ray McBerry and Mac McCarley, have confirmed; two candidates for Lt. Governor have confirmed – Al Bartell and Griffin Lotson. One candidate for Secretary of State, Angela Moore has also confirmed.
The conference theme is” I’m FREE to Think for Myself.” Conference Host, Helen Blocker-Adams, who is also an Independent Candidate for Georgia State Representative House Seat District 120, has partnered with iMove, Coalition for Independent Voters of America and Georgia Independent Voters to bring this event to the Deep South.
“People who consider themselves independent thinkers, independents or those who believe that voters should have a choice at the polls will be coming from all over the southeast to attend this event,” said Blocker-Adams. 35% of registered voters in Georgia consider themselves independent. That is a bloc of voters that can no longer be overlooked,” she added.
Some of the conference speakers include: Al Bartell, Independent Candidate for Lt. Governor of Georgia and Founder of the Coalition for Independent Voters of America, Rob Redding, Publisher and Radio Host of Redding News Review of Washington, DC, Independent Movement Advocate Sterling Passmore of NC and Murray Dabby, President of Georgia Independent Voters based in Atlanta.



Conference topics include: The Impact of the Media on Public Policy” and “Public Policy 101.” “This conference isn’t about partisan or non-partisan politics. It’s about educating and empowering the voters with information and knowledge to make them better informed and prepared when they go to the polls,” explained Blocker-Adams. We also want to encourage more people to get involved in public policy.
Conference registration fees are $40 person, which includes the VIP Reception to be held on Friday, June 16th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., full conference, conference materials, lunch and other surprises.
