Sez OpenLeft's Chris Bowers:
"I am starting to think that if any Democratic candidate has a chance of defeating Hillary Clinton for the presidential nomination, they will have to start making the argument that many of the problems we have faced as a country under the Bush administration were caused, at least in part, by the way our political system operated in the 1990's and earlier. Unless there is a repudiation of the 1990's, it is hard for me to see how anyone except Hillary Clinton will end up as the nominee."
Oh hell, the whole discussion is fascinating:

A commenter on the above comments:
"The idea that a vote for Clinton is an endorsement for "the way the Democratic Party has operated for the last sixteen years" is coming dangerously close to Nader territory. That "there's no difference between the parties" rhetoric."
We're starting to see a steady patter of Nader-baiting. Yesterday, Edwards was catching anti-Nader heat for saying we had to do more than replace corporate Republicans with corporate Dems. Naderism is emerging within the heart of the DP, and not everyone is thrilled. :>) I am.
Some very interesting discussion of the Bush Dog campaign on Ruy Texeira's and Ed Kilgores Democratic Strategist site: http://www.thedemocraticstrategist.org/
Their categories may not be the same as the independent movement's (which of course despises categories) but there is some serious movement afoot.
How can independents influence this discussion.
