  • Conservatives' new love object: Obama (by Tony Norman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette) Some conservative talk radio hosts are trying to generate mischief in the Democratic ranks by implying that outrage over Mr. Obama's choices is growing at Daily Kos, MoveOn.org and other liberal blogs. Liberals love to argue and consider the lockstep ideological conformity of the far right a betrayal of the Democratic ideal.
  • Knowing what you don't know (By COKIE AND STEVE ROBERTS, The Morning Sun, Pittsburg KS) Obama is much better off having the support of the Pentagon than The Nation magazine.
  • Obama channels Lincoln's spirit (Marilou Johanek, Toledo Blade) Not only do the Obama choices exhibit a deft move to co-opt potential enemies of his administration, but they follow the Lincoln model of refusing to let past hurts cloud present judgment.
