Pennsylvania: Call to independent voters! Chuck Pennacchio in primary...

Pennsylvania's future is on the line WEBCommentaryTony Phyrillas May 15, 2006 ...Can the voters overthrown the political aristocracy that has wrapped its tentacles on state government? The answer comes in Primary Election Day.
The eyes of the nation are on Pennsylvania and the people's campaign to take back their government. The Wall Street Journal profiled the state of Pennsylvania politics Monday in a story headlined, "Incumbents Under Fire." A few weeks ago, the New York Times ran a story on maverick challenger Russ Diamond. GOP gubernatorial candidate Lynn Swann was featured in The Washington Post and on ABC News.... Russ Diamond, the founder or PaCleanSweep and independent candidate for governor, had this to say on what happens if challengers fail to outs incumbents: "The Legislature is capable of anything. I wouldn't put it past them to reinstate the pay raise unless a substantial number of legislators are swept out of office this year. Imagine if we can't dump these people after what they've done to this state. What kind of message does that send?" ...

May mid-term elections in Chester County are mostly ho-hum affairs, with few primary battles and little reason outside of civic responsibility for voters to go to the polls. Daily Local NewsDecision Tuesday: Aichele OR Dinniman ADAM CIRUCCI05/15/06 ...Dinniman, 61, of West Whiteland, is the county’s longest-serving commissioner.
"What you normally would do in four or five months we had to do in eight weeks," he said. "It is normal in any campaign for things to turn negative as the election comes up. We had hoped it would stay positive, but it didn’t and then we had to defend ourselves."
Dinniman, who is counting on name recognition to draw Republican voters to his candidacy, starts at a disadvantage: Democrats are outnumbered in the 19th district, 83,632 to 48,787, according to figures provided by the county Office of Voter Services. There are 27,173 voters registered in other parties or as independents in the district....

May 15, 2006 OpEdNewsUrgent! May 16 is Last Chance to Help Insure A Santorum Defeat and elect a progressive US Senator from PA. YOU can Help by Rob Kall http://www.opednews.com -- Wherever you live, in PA or not, you can help beat Rick Santorum by taking action today.
Please contact the people you know who are registered Demcrats in Pennsylvania and tell them they need to vote for Chuck Pennacchio if they want to get rid of Rick Santorum this fall and tell the people THEY know in PA to come out and vote for Pennacchio too. And while they are at it, they should vote for progressive Valerie McDonald Roberts for lt. governor. Before the current governor Rendell, the two previous governors have left office, causing the lt. governors to become governor. If Rendell were to vacate the office for any reason, Valerie would be both the first female and first African American to become governor of PA. I've met her and canvassed voters, on the street, beside her and she's terrific. ... I've been supporting Chuck Pennacchio, a tough, aggressive campaigner who has taken a lesson from Paul Wellstone, building a grassroots base of over 6,000 supporters statewide who have been canvassing their hearts out in the weeks leading up to tomorrow's primary.
Tomorrow is the big day. Off year primary elections usually see a very small turnout. It's supposed to rain all day. That reduces turnout too.
If you can persuade the people you know in PA to come out and vote for Pennacchio and Roberts, it will help beat Santorum.
Here's why. Pennacchio already has over 6000 people in a grassroots organization he's built statewide. That will grow. ....
