I'm just a fool for the voices of political independents!

Here's a comment on the comment on Michael Klein's "Tom's Party" article from yesterday:
"Just proves how the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing - that the media is self-serving & now they're serving up independents on their terms. They're taking about a sanitized independent movement, certainly not one that wants to take votes from & take on the Democratic Party - the NY Times' party of record. Their "movement" won't change much of anything. It's inside the box, sells newspapers & maintains the status quo while givng lip service to independents. Let's not be seduced. It makes it even more of an imperative to continue to build our movement from the grass roots up, with the Independnce Party in NY and all across this great country of ours.... "

Now, you ask "Why does she keep repeating the comments on another post?"
A. I'm new at blogging and I'm smitten by the whole thing!!!!
A. I'm just a fool for the sound of independents talking to each other!!!!

See this letter to the editor from Illinois:

Vote and be heard
Letter to the Editor Belleville News DemocratMay 9, 2006 -- With many of our young men and women voting for the first time in November, I feel a responsibility to advise them of the power they wield with their vote.
The question has arisen as to why so many Americans will vote for an "American Idol" and so few for an American government. The problem, I believe, lies with our elected officials. Too many of them vote along party beliefs instead of their constituents' wishes. In other words, our representatives in Washington have lost touch with their constituents.
I was raised a loyal Democrat, but I have learned that party politics is not always in the best interest of Americans. What got my attention was the 1992 presidential debates in which Ralph Nader, a Green Party candidate, was not allowed to participate. Any patriot should have been screaming on the rooftops at this fiasco.
Although we may not agree with Republican or Democratic politics, we should still visit the polls on election day. The United States is a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people." It is the people who decide how our government should be run, and the power to change our government lies with the voters.
